Unboxing

What to expect

Inside the package you should find the hardware device, a USB cable, recovery sheets, and simple instructions. Verify packaging seals and authenticity stickers before connecting — tampering is rare but critical to spot.

Setup Steps

1
Go to Ledger.com/Start®

Open the site on a secure device and follow the guided onboarding. Use the official URL and avoid links from unknown sources.

2
Connect & power

Connect with the provided cable and power on following on-screen instructions. Allow the device to complete any firmware prompt.

3
Create PIN & recovery

Set a strong PIN on the device and write down the recovery phrase only on the provided sheet. Never store the recovery phrase digitally.

4
Install apps & verify

Use Ledger Live (or the web install flow) to install app packages for supported cryptocurrencies and verify addresses before sending funds.

Security Tips

  • Never share your recovery phrase with anyone.
  • Use a trusted, up-to-date browser and network when accessing Ledger.com/Start®.
  • Store your recovery sheet in a secure, offline location (consider a safe or security deposit box).
  • Enable device passphrase features only if you fully understand them.

Troubleshooting

If the device does not respond: try a different USB port, a different cable, or restart your computer. For persistent issues, visit the official support page and reference device serials and firmware versions.
